strixalbaI brought M & T with me to have lunch/go to a farm stand with my family this weekend, and it went pretty well! (Did not tell my parents that we’re dating T, ‘cause it’s only been three months and that would also involve explaining the whole … poly … thing. I’ll get around to that in June or May or something because I’m assuming this is going to work out long-term but I don’t want to make a fuss until I know it is)
I sat between T and my sister at lunch, and there was a really delightful moment where my mom asked about a musical thing that Wagner invented, and they talked across me while figuring out how to describe the thing, which was nice because my sister’s opinions of my people matter the most to me out of anyone in my family. Neither of them could actually answer her question adequately, and my mom laughed at them because “thank you, music majors, for that insightful response!” and it was. !! I appreciated her treating T like a friend, and not a guest.
(We spent like 7 hours in the car together and I still liked everyone even when I was sleepy and hangry at 8pm, which is a Good Sign.)
Aaaaaaand then I had dinner the next day with a friend and we talked about other things and it was lovely to connect to someone I am not dating! It’s been a hectic month and a half and I haven’t seen other friends as often as I usually do.
